The symphony genre has acquired its classical features in the oeuvre of the great Austrian composer Joseph Haydn. Along with Mozart’s symphonies, the symphonic masterpieces created by Haydn at the end of the 18th century became the starting point for the entire 19th century symphonism.
The volume includes easy transcriptions of the symphonies Nos. 93, 94 (“Surprise”), 99, 101 (“The Clock”), 103 (“The Drumroll”), 104. They can be used both for study and for concert performance.
Published after: Haydn, J. Selected Symphonies. Volume I. Transcription for piano duet. — Moscow: Muzyka, 1971.
For music college and conservatory students.
