Maria Mirzoeva (1896-1981) was an eminent vocal teacher and Professor of the Moscow Conservatory. She compolised some classical compositions by G. Caccini, H. Purcell, J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, W.A. Mozart and others for this collection, first published in 1970. The texts are in the original languages with a Russian translation.
