The P. Jurgenson publishing house has issued a Children’s Album by the contemporary Russian composer Victor Sumarokov. This collection of pieces continues the tradition of cycles created for young pianists by Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich and other composers.

The new work pays tribute to a genre devised by classic composers, yet at the same time fills it with modern rhythms and textural ingenuity. Young musicians will find the melodic vibrancy of these pieces from Sumarokov’s Children’s Album irresistible.
